Background

Pennsylvania Mental Health Film Festival is a new festival focused on films about mental health. Before year one, they needed a brand and marketing base that fit their local community and a wider group of filmmakers and viewers.

Challenge

They were entering a crowded film festival market with strong opinions on how mental health should be shown. They needed a position and identity that felt local yet broad enough to hold many voices without the festival itself taking over the stories.

01

Built a messaging guide that breaks stereotypes while leaving room for many stories.

02

Designed a clean visual identity as a blank canvas for films, not a loud festival brand.

03

Launched a website and SEO plan built on mental health reviews of popular film and TV.

Process

We ran discovery and research, then wrote messaging that was honest, stigma breaking, and intentionally broad. From there we built a visual system, website, and content plan so the festival could launch with clear language, simple systems, and steady reach.

Solution

We created a brand, messaging guide, and site that present PMHFF as a blank canvas for filmmakers and a clear guide for viewers. The identity breaks stereotypes without centering one story, while the review based SEO content gives audiences a taste of the festival before films ever hit the screen.
